Jurisdiction Area

According to the agreement reached by the governments of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Indonesia, the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Medan held its opening ceremony on September 8th, 2011. The Consulate General covers 9 provinces and 1 special region: North Sumatra Province, South Sumatra Province, West Sumatra Province, Jambi Province, Riau Province, Riau Islands Province, Bengkulu Province, Lampung Province, Bangka-Belitung Province and Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam.

Functions

The Consulate General aims at promotion of communications and cooperations between its jurisdiction area and China in the fields of economic, trade, science and technology, culture, agriculture, education, tourism, etc. It also provides passport, visa, notarization and legalization services as well as to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Chinese citizens within its jurisdiction area.
